Cvent Building Scalable Microservices with N1QL

Cvent is a leading cloud-based enterprise event management company serving over 16,000 customers worldwide. As its product grew from a single monolithic application, the platform became difficult to scale and maintain, so Cvent set out to re-architect its system into hundreds of integrated microservices to improve scalability and developer agility.

Cvent chose Couchbase and N1QL to power the new microservices architecture: Couchbase’s Memcached compatibility enabled a smooth, gradual migration, while N1QL let SQL-trained developers query schemaless data and use flexible indexing. The result: a performant, scalable, and flexible data platform used across 8 development clusters and 45 teams, now serving as a primary source of truth for many workloads and supporting hundreds of microservices.
