Case Study: Coyote achieves real-time, scalable driver engagement with Couchbase

A Couchbase Case Study

Preview of the Coyote Case Study

Creating a safer, more efficient driving experience with Couchbase

Coyote, a France-based provider of community-driven driving assistance, supports roughly 4.8 million members and processes vast real-time data from drivers (about 50 million incident reports monthly). To deepen engagement and launch a personalized dashboard showing driving stats (kilometers driven, time in traffic, impacts on other drivers, etc.), the company needed a new data platform that could handle massive, real-time workloads, offer offline functionality for intermittent connectivity, and meet a tight launch deadline.

Coyote selected the Couchbase Data Platform (Couchbase Lite, Sync Gateway and Server) for its real-time synchronization, offline mode and cloud-ready, end-to-end stack. The platform enabled a fast launch, scalable processing of hundreds of millions of documents, and targeted data delivery to devices. Within three months more than 35% of the community adopted the new service, engagement rose, churn fell, and Coyote is now using the same foundation to develop further safety and contextual-alert features.
