CenterEdge From cache to query with Couchbase

CenterEdge is a POS and operations-software provider serving about 500 entertainment and FEC customers worldwide, offering solutions for ticketing, concessions, reservations, labor and attractions. After a 2012 Black Friday SQL meltdown from a traffic spike, the company needed a more agile, scalable infrastructure and began a cloud and NoSQL migration to prevent future outages.

CenterEdge adopted Couchbase Server—starting as a cache to ease SQL load, then moving to persistent storage and ultimately replacing SQL—becoming an early N1QL adopter. The move delivered millisecond analytics, simplified complex queries, increased developer productivity with flexible, reusable indexes, and enabled additional use cases as they continue migrating fully to Couchbase.
