Xumm (later known as Xaman), a self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet for the XRP Ledger, engaged Cossack Labs to conduct a comprehensive security assessment. Their challenge was to strengthen the cryptographic protection of users' private keys, ensure the integrity of transactions, and improve the overall security posture of their mobile application against a wide array of threats.

Cossack Labs performed an in-depth audit, which led to a complete re-design and re-implementation of the application's cryptographic layer. This solution, along with numerous other security enhancements, fixed 82% of the original cryptographic weaknesses. As a result, the application's security score against the OWASP MASVS framework dramatically increased from 43% to 89%, significantly raising the bar for potential attackers and providing a robust foundation for future development.
