Temple Wallet, a non-custodial wallet for the Tezos blockchain, required a comprehensive security assessment of its mobile and web extension apps. The challenges included ensuring the secure storage of private keys across multiple platforms, implementing consistent cryptography, and protecting users from threats like phishing. Cossack Labs was engaged by the Tezos Foundation to conduct this audit and address these security challenges.

Cossack Labs performed a risk assessment, threat modelling, and a deep cryptography audit. The solution involved migrating the application's cryptographic core to the Themis library to unify encryption, alongside implementing numerous platform-specific security controls and application logic improvements. As a result, the Temple Wallet ecosystem saw significant improvements in security, stability, and maintainability, providing users with defense-in-depth protection for their cryptocurrency accounts.
