Plato Delivers Mobile News Feed Content with Cosmic

Plato, a social gaming messenger available on iOS and Android, was burdened by a costly, home-built CMS whose operational expenses and engineering maintenance were too high. To streamline content delivery for its mobile news feed, Plato replaced the internal system with Cosmic, adopting an API-first CMS and the Cosmic REST API to support faster content model changes and editor autonomy.

Using Cosmic’s API-first platform, Plato integrated the Cosmic REST API into its Golang/AWS backend so Swift and Kotlin mobile clients could pull articles and package them into an ATOM-compliant feed. Cosmic eliminated the previous development bottleneck by letting editors manage content directly, reducing maintenance overhead and engineering workload while enabling quicker content iteration and more efficient news feed delivery.
