Design Spin, a boutique design and development shop in Norwich led by Jason Foster, set out to modernize its website and move off a WordPress-driven site toward a contemporary JavaScript stack. Faced with the need for a flexible CMS and better performance/SEO, Design Spin adopted Cosmic as a headless CMS (using the Cosmic API) while rebuilding the front end with React and Node.

Cosmic was integrated as the content back end (using its client library and webhooks wrapped by Design Spin’s server routes), enabling faster development and easy content updates. The site uses server-rendered React for SEO-friendly initial loads, client-side navigation for speed, and a web worker to optimize a pixel animation—results include a 100% Lighthouse PWA score and an 86% performance score, plus improved perceived speed and simpler content management thanks to Cosmic.
