A Corvus Robotics Case Study
LAPP USA, a distributor and manufacturer of industrial cables and connectivity solutions, faced significant challenges with manual inventory counting in its 134,000 sq ft warehouse. The labor-intensive process only allowed for two full inventory counts per year, required five associates who often missed targets, and risked delayed shipments due to misplaced items. To address this, LAPP USA partnered with Corvus Robotics to implement the Corvus One Autonomous Inventory Management System.
The Corvus One solution used autonomous drones to fly nightly missions, scanning thousands of pallet locations without human pilots. This implementation by Corvus Robotics resulted in a dramatic 13x increase in inventory counts, from two to twenty-six per year. The inventory team was reduced by 60%, from five people to two, and weekend overtime was eliminated. The system also provided real-time discrepancy reports, leading to faster error resolution and improved on-time delivery for customers.
