GNC reduces inventory control staff from 20 to 13 with Corvus Robotics

GNC, a global health and wellness retailer, faced significant challenges with inventory management across its two large distribution centers in Indianapolis and Phoenix. The labor-intensive process required large teams to manually count 40,000 locations, diverting material handling equipment from fulfillment and leading to human errors and operational disruptions. To address these issues, GNC partnered with Corvus Robotics.

Corvus Robotics implemented its Corvus One Autonomous Inventory Management System, which uses drones to automate daily cycle counts. The solution allowed GNC to increase its full facility counting frequency from 2-4 times a year to 10-12 times. As a result, inventory accuracy improved significantly, and the company was able to reduce its inventory control staff from 20 to 13, redeploying those employees to other projects. The drones now run 7 to 8 autonomous flights per day, freeing up labor and equipment while providing real-time data.
