To address this, the company partnered with Cortona3D to implement a customized version of their technical documentation package, RapidAuthor.

Cortona3D's solution, implemented with help from cards PLM Solutions, transformed ATD's 3D CAD data into interactive documentation. This was deployed on the company's shop floor and on a client portal. The results were significant: assembly technicians became reliant on the application for every machine build, errors in ordering parts were prevented, and hardcopy manuals became obsolete. For customers, the interactive 3D portal enabled self-service part identification and immediate quote requests, drastically reducing their need for support from ATD and saving time for both parties.
