The customer, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, faced chronic NPDES permit compliance challenges at a coal mining operation — delayed lab reporting, inability to capture monthly averages, poorly formatted legacy data, and high administrative burden. Cority was engaged to address these water management and permit-recording problems using its environmental SaaS platform and an NPDES-specific solution template.

Cority implemented a full solution including an NPDES Solution Template (hundreds of POIs and parameters), an FTP-based integration for nine labs with hourly imports and QA checks, Excel-based DMR report templates, dashboards, automated internal and regulatory limit warnings, and end-user training. The Cority deployment delivered automated limit alerts, integrated lab data, proactive trending and submittal-ready reports, cutting reporting effort by 72% and reducing turnaround time substantially (from 6 hours/month to about 4–5 hours/quarter).
