Case Study: UNHCR achieves a 20% increase in staff protected against vaccine‑preventable diseases with Cority's Travel Module

A Cority Case Study

How the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees uses Cority’s Travel Module to Ensure the Health & Safety of Employees

UNHCR, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, needed a way to protect and manage the health of roughly 15,000 staff—about half working in high‑risk or low‑care environments—while facing paper records, no monitoring or reporting system, and life‑threatening vaccination gaps. To address this, UNHCR adopted Cority’s Occupational Health solution, using the Travel Module to track fitness to travel, medical records, vaccinations and emergency evacuations.

Cority’s Travel Module centralized records, automated vaccine expiry notifications, enabled rapid reporting (reports that once took a year now run in about 10 minutes), and supported medical evacuations and workforce reassignments. As a result of Cority’s implementation, 90% of employees had updated medical examinations within six months and UNHCR achieved a 20% increase in staff protected against vaccine‑preventable diseases (from 5% to 25%), while improving overall health monitoring and response.
