Outdoor Power Equipment Manufacturing Company, a North American manufacturer with 100+ employees, faced significant losses from RMAs caused by purchased parts and had supplier, parts and quality information managed in disparate plant-level systems and an inefficient 3-part RDVM process. After an in-house effort showed the problem was broader than expected, they engaged Cority to deploy a Quality Management solution (Cority Quality Software) to address cross-departmental workflow, supplier communication and integration needs.

Cority implemented its Quality Software integrated with ERP, standardized defect codes, automated NCM capture/prioritization and supplier communications, and enabled real-time reporting and a Supplier Scorecard Program. Within six months the manufacturer recovered $6M (about 1% of annual revenue); documented occurrences increased 47% in year one and 40% in year two; COPQ recovery rose 28%; and internal and supplier communication, accuracy and timeliness of supplier debits all improved.
