How Emmerson Packaging Delighted Customers With Self-Service

Emmerson Packaging, a Canadian flexible packaging manufacturer, needed a new way to give customers self-service after migrating to SAP ECC 6.0. The ERP change shut down its home-grown portal, leaving customers without real-time access to order, inventory, invoice, and shipping information and driving a surge in customer service calls. Corevist stepped in as the vendor, with Corevist Order Tracking used first to restore portal-based self-service.

Corevist implemented a real-time SAP-integrated customer portal that let logged-in users track orders and invoices using live ERP data, with a roadmap to expand later into online ordering and stock releasing through Corevist Grow. The impact was immediate: one customer service rep’s time spent on a major account dropped from 16 hours per week to 30 minutes per week, a 97% decrease. Emmerson also gained a scalable path to improve customer experience without adding IT burden.
