Case Study: Oxide Computer Company achieves hyperscale-grade cloud infrastructure on-premises and in colocation with CoreSite

A CoreSite Case Study

Preview of the Oxide Case Study

Oxide Computer Company transforms on-premises computing by combining networking, compute and storage capabilities with CoreSite's high density, network-rich data center solutions

Oxide Computer Company, maker of the world’s first commercial cloud computer, built a rack-scale, fully unified hardware-and-software system to bring hyperscale cloud capabilities on-premises. The company addressed a common enterprise problem: skyrocketing public cloud costs and gaps in security, compliance and control, while existing on-prem approaches were slow to deploy, fragmented, and lacked hyperscaler-grade density and efficiency.

By colocating its integrated Oxide cloud computer at CoreSite’s Silicon Valley (SV2) facility and using CoreSite’s Blended IP, Oxide demonstrated a secure, API-first platform that delivers per-tenant isolation, self-service networking, elastic compute and high-performance NVMe storage. The integrated solution is faster to deploy, developer-friendly, provides access to cloud and network providers, meets key compliance standards, and yields at least 35% greater efficiency than traditional racks—letting enterprises achieve cloud-like agility, cost predictability and control.
