Case Study: Goodwill Industries of Central Florida achieves greater resiliency and lower IT costs with CoreSite colocation services

A CoreSite Case Study

Preview of the Goodwill Case Study

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida transforms lives and reduces waste leveraging CoreSite’s colocation services, team support and compliant data center environment

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (Goodwill) needed a more reliable IT foundation to support donations, retail operations, and its sustainability cycle, but its in-house setup had a single power supplier and no critical redundancies, creating outage risk. Goodwill turned to CoreSite’s Orlando data center and colocation services to secure a compliant, resilient environment close to its corporate office.

CoreSite implemented redundant infrastructure, dual power suppliers, diverse network paths, backup power, and strong physical security, while also providing ongoing data center support. The results included improved uptime and compliance, lower cost of ownership, reduced power and infrastructure costs, and more time for Goodwill to focus on community programs. CoreSite also helped Goodwill address a power overdraw issue quickly and supported its mission of diverting nearly 24 million pounds of donated items from landfills in 2023, with less than 2% of donated items ending up in landfills.
