Case Study: Georgia IT, Inc. achieves 4-5x cloud cost reduction and 3-4x performance boost with CoreSite

A CoreSite Case Study

Preview of the Georgia IT, Inc. Case Study

Georgia IT reduces cloud costs and bolsters performance exponentially for prominent customer with CoreSite colocation and native AWS onramp

Georgia IT, a managed IT services provider, was engaged to manage a high‑growth customer that operated an all‑cloud AWS environment moving ~150 TB/day and facing exorbitant egress fees and performance issues. To meet the customer’s cost and performance expectations, Georgia IT needed a colocation partner with secure, high‑speed native access to AWS.

Georgia IT deployed a private cage at CoreSite’s Reston (VA2) facility and used CoreSite’s native AWS Direct Connect/fiber cross‑connect to repatriate workloads from AWS. The move eliminated egress fees and dark‑fiber inefficiencies, cutting cloud costs 4–5x, slashing monthly port costs from $3,000 to $270, and improving cloud performance and reliability by roughly 3–4x while opening new growth and interconnection opportunities.
