Island Trends is an upscale island- and resort-focused apparel and accessories retailer on Marco Island, Florida, selling through a physical store, phone orders and an ecommerce site. As the company expanded product lines and online marketing, its legacy retail system left store and web sales in separate databases, creating manual processes, channel-management complexity and no budget or time to upgrade the old system.

In fall 2006 Island Trends implemented CORESense, a web-based retail management suite that unified POS, ecommerce and phone sales into a single database and automated inventory, order fulfillment, supplier and customer management, as well as marketplace listings and analytics. The integrated solution eliminated spreadsheets, improved marketing decisions via Google Analytics, enabled remote management—and contributed to a 20% increase in sales between September 2006 and August 2007.
