Thieme sells two book formats and territory-based pricing with corePHP

corePHP worked with Thieme, a medical publisher, to solve a complex e-commerce challenge. The client needed a single storefront capable of selling both physical books and e-books, which have entirely different fulfillment paths. A further complication was the requirement for territory-based pricing, where the cost of a title legitimately varies based on the customer's location, which off-the-shelf solutions could not handle.

The solution from corePHP was a customized implementation of paGO Commerce on Joomla. They built a single catalogue to sell both formats side-by-side, each with its own fulfillment process, and developed a custom pricing metric to automatically set prices by the customer's location. This resulted in one streamlined storefront that efficiently serves specialist buyers who know exactly which edition they need.
