A CorelDRAW Case Study
Zittau Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, represented by Prof. Dr. Manfred Gey, is a 3,800‑student institution whose analytical and bioanalytical teaching and research depend on clear technical illustrations. The challenge was that only a few seats of Corel DESIGNER® Technical Suite were available despite the need for hundreds of graphics across courses, textbooks and lab reports. The vendor CorelDRAW (via its Corel DESIGNER® Technical Suite product) is the software provider used to meet this need.
CorelDRAW’s Corel DESIGNER® Technical Suite was implemented to import and edit WMF outputs from analytical devices, annotate electropherograms, convert black‑and‑white figures to color and produce detailed flow diagrams, putting 90% of Prof. Gey’s graphic work into a single workflow. The result: faster, more professional visuals (his textbook contains almost 500 graphics), streamlined student lab reporting, and a university licensing agreement with plans to expand Corel DESIGNER® Technical Suite access to more users.
