Kerr-McGee relies on CorelDRAW to create geological maps

Kerr‑McGee Corporation, an independent energy and chemical company based in Oklahoma City, needed to turn large volumes of incoming geological survey data into precise, easy‑to‑read maps and consistent corporate graphics. Graphics Supervisor Anthony Mata and his Houston design team required software that could import engineering file formats (CGM, DXF), handle large‑format plotting and support both technical mapping and mainstream collateral—so they chose CorelDRAW, using CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12.

CorelDRAW enabled Kerr‑McGee to import CGM/DXF data, trace contours, clean curves, add symbols/text and print directly to 36" and 60" plotters; the company runs a 100‑seat CorelDRAW network license. With CorelDRAW’s support for roughly 75 import and 50 export formats, its PowerClip workflow and built‑in PDF engine, the team accelerated production, ensured consistent branding across technical and marketing materials, and simplified sharing of maps and presentations.
