Keeping track of the traffic jungle

BVG, Berlin’s integrated public transport authority serving roughly 800 million passenger trips a year across a 1,600 km network, needed to replace slow, manual paper-based network diagrams and reduce training costs. To visualize complex transit lines, signalling and large-format schematics more efficiently, BVG selected CorelDRAW’s technical illustration solution, Corel DESIGNER 10.

CorelDRAW deployed Corel DESIGNER 10 centrally across BVG’s network (660 licenses), giving users precision drawing, layering, symbol libraries and large-format plotting support. The result: daily variations in traffic flows and signalling layouts can now be designed quickly without manual photocopying and glue, the drawings are reused across BVG and by Berlin emergency services, and the solution met BVG’s goals for usability and scalability.
