Edsbyn Office Furniture develops an easy-to-use sales support system that reduces design costs and improves customer response

Edsbyn Office Furniture, a long-established Scandinavian manufacturer, needed a simpler sales-support system to keep short lead times and deliver customized office solutions. Designers worked in an advanced CAD/CAM environment that was too complex for retailers and customers to use directly, so Edsbyn adopted CorelDRAW (CorelDRAW Graphics Suite) to create a user-friendly way for retailers and clients to visualize and configure furniture, shelving and storage units.

Using CorelDRAW, Edsbyn’s marketing team built a library of about 1,000 scaled templates and drag-and-drop images that let retailers and customers preview layouts, change materials and colors, and produce virtual room drawings. The CorelDRAW-based system is used daily by roughly 10 Edsbyn employees and about 150 interior designers and retailers across the sales network, saving time, reducing design costs, improving customer response, and streamlining the creation of marketing materials. CorelDRAW’s openness also lets retailers import files and expand the system as products evolve.
