Case Study: Dare to be Digital achieves professional game art and streamlined software access with CorelDRAW (Corel Academic Site Licence)

A CorelDRAW Case Study

Preview of the Dare to be Digital Case Study

Dare To Be Digital 2012 at the University of Abertay Dundee

Dare to be Digital, a high-profile student game‑development competition held at the University of Abertay Dundee, needed to quickly provide contestants with professional graphics tools. The Customer, Dare to be Digital, partnered with vendor CorelDRAW via a Corel Academic Site Licence (CASL) so teams had campus-wide access to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite and related products (Corel Painter, Corel VideoStudio, Corel PaintShop Pro, Corel PDF Fusion) during the two‑month event.

CorelDRAW’s CASL was deployed across workstations and tablets for 15 teams of five students, enabling the ClockinRock team to create textures, character models, logos, promotional flyers, banners, T‑shirts and business cards for their game Liminal Magibrawl. The solution ensured all competitors had the latest software, simplified licensing and budgeting, and left students using professional tools that supported daily workflows and employability — a result the Customer attributes directly to CorelDRAW.
