A CorelDRAW Case Study
Herdwick Landscapes, run by Peter and Kate Kelsall, builds highly detailed 1/24th and 1/48th scale dolls' houses inspired by Lake District stone buildings. Recreating fine fretwork, windows and doors by hand was extremely time‑consuming and in some cases physically impossible, so they adopted CorelDRAW® Graphics Suite to overcome those limitations.
Using CorelDRAW for plans, vector shapes, engraving and furniture design — with files sent straight to an HPC laser cutter — Herdwick Landscapes now produces much finer, more consistent details and has greatly reduced production time. CorelDRAW enabled batches of windows to go from up to five days of handwork to a single day and turned hours of hand-cut panelling into a few hours as a single piece, expanding their design range and increasing the quality and pace of commissions.
