A CorelDRAW Case Study
Beneteau, the historic boat builder and world's leading maker of sailing boats, needed a better way to produce the highly detailed, illustrated construction handbooks used across its factories. Creating clear, repeatable manuals that import 3D plans from CATIA/Windchill proved difficult with Word, Excel or previous vector tools, so Beneteau adopted CorelDRAW Graphics Suite to address the challenge.
Using CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Beneteau imports 3D structural plans, applies standardized style sheets and cartoon-style illustrations, then distributes PDFs or laminated hardcopies to workshops. CorelDRAW is now the group standard: about 12 people use it (expanding to 20), basic training takes one day (two for advanced users), there have been zero IT helpdesk calls in 18 months, and manuals are richer and faster to produce—delivering measurable time and cost savings across Beneteau’s 6,000-employee organization.
