Essex Marketing Co. worked with Cordial to support JibJab’s Halloween campaign challenge: delivering highly personalized email experiences while managing complex audience logic, subscription statuses, and deliverability concerns. The team needed a way to tailor content for both paid and non-paid members and measure how directing users to JibJab’s free GIF library would affect conversion and retention.

Using the Cordial platform and SMARTY scripting, Essex Marketing Co. built a highly dynamic email with personalized GIFs, real-time segmentation, custom subject lines and body copy, deep links, UTM tracking, domain-based send controls, and safeguards for bad email addresses. Cordial enabled one reusable workflow that could be applied across campaign versions, giving JibJab a scalable framework for future personalized campaigns and providing ongoing data to analyze long-term performance.
