Olmsted County Elects Successful Payables Processing

Olmsted County, a Minnesota municipal government serving about 151,000 residents, struggled with an outdated, paper-based accounts payable process that handled roughly 24,000 invoices a year with little documentation or visibility. To modernize AP, Olmsted County implemented Corcentric’s cloud-based accounts payable and P‑card processing solution.

Corcentric centralized invoice images, workflow and reporting, giving managers real-time visibility and actionable transactional data. The results were dramatic: average invoice processing fell from 25 days to 2 days for 90% of transactions; unallocated P‑card transactions dropped from 470 to 66 (an 80–90% improvement); the payment cycle shortened from 45–60 days to 5 days; and Olmsted achieved 100% visibility into its AP process, improved cash‑flow control, and greater ability to consolidate staff and resources.
