Blackhawk Network, a global branded payments company serving 28 countries, faced growing complexity from organic expansion and frequent M&A that left it managing 10,000+ contracts in an outdated repository used by just 35 legal and finance users. The legacy system lacked adequate metadata, OCR, reporting, amendment tracking and parent/child relationship management, so Blackhawk sought a modern Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution and selected Corcentric to deliver rapid, low-disruption replacement.

Corcentric implemented its CLM platform (six-month initial deployment with a third-party metadata cleanup), providing a user-friendly UI, full-text search, DocuSign/ERP integration, SOX-ready workflows and rich metadata, notifications and reporting for seven contract types and complex parent–subagreement structures. Within a year Corcentric helped Blackhawk achieve core objectives—improved auditability and compliance, automated expiry/renewal alerts, commission and exception tracking, global contract visibility across 28 countries—and the company has continued to expand Corcentric usage through 14 subsequent acquisitions and plans to load many more contracts and add hundreds of users.
