Reducing electrical and fuel consumption through feedmill optimisation

The customer, a leading electrical and fuel consumption service provider, faced the challenge of reducing energy use at its feedmill plant without hindering production. They engaged the vendor, CoolPlanet, to utilize their in-house energy optimization platform, CoolPlanetOS, to address this challenge.

CoolPlanet implemented a comprehensive solution involving the installation of specialized motor controllers (FSMCs) and variable speed drives (VSDs) on motors and fans, alongside a complete overhaul of the thermal systems. This included upgrading lighting to LED, replacing an old boiler, adding insulation, and installing heat recovery systems. CoolPlanet's efforts yielded total savings of €493,818, comprising €313,315 in electrical savings and €180,503 in fuel cost savings, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.
