Synovus Bank, a multi-product financial services company, faced the challenge of manually engaging and motivating its branch bankers to boost performance and credit card sales. Their previous method of running incentive contests was inefficient and limited in scale, making it difficult to drive consistent, quality customer interactions across their widespread footprint. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Cooleaf.
Cooleaf implemented an automated platform called Credit Card Connections to incentivize key sales behaviors and provide training. The solution rewarded bankers with points for completing activities and included targeted challenges to build product knowledge. This strategy led to significant results: the percentage of bankers achieving 200% or more of their sales goal jumped from 1.9% to 21.78% within a year. Cooleaf's program was so successful that Synovus plans to expand it to other retail products.
