Stand to Reason (STR) is a nonprofit founded in 1993 that trains Christians to defend classical Christian beliefs. Its 800-page website had become central to outreach but was cumbersome to maintain and navigate, was run by volunteers, and needed an affordable, easy-to-use solution to post timely content, sell digital products, improve donor communications, and integrate online activity with an offline donor system.

In 2005 STR implemented Convio for web content management, email and online fundraising, enabling staff to manage content, send welcome and promotional emails, launch an ecommerce store for MP3s and PDFs with cross-selling, and synchronize donor data. Within six months online donations rose 65% year-over-year, registered users increased more than 150%, three years of projected Convio costs were recovered in three months from online revenue, site navigation and search improved, and STR’s podcast reached #1 in iTunes’ Religion & Spirituality category.
