Polly Klaas Foundation - Customer Case Study

The Polly Klaas® Foundation is a national nonprofit that finds missing children, promotes child-safety laws like Amber Alert, and supports families through casework and education. Facing a static, fragmented website and a cumbersome content-update process, the Foundation had very few email contacts and struggled to post timely information about missing children, recruit volunteers outside its local base, and publicize safety materials without large advertising budgets.

By implementing Convio’s advocacy, fundraising and content-management tools, the Foundation gained easy, immediate control of its web content, integrated online and offline workflows, and trained nontechnical staff to use the system. The results included nationwide adoption of Amber Alerts, growth of the email list from 326 to more than 60,000 in five years, an increase in Child Safety Kit orders from about 17,000 to over 100,000 per year, and rapid eVolunteer mobilization (600+ signups within 48 hours).
