The Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) Foundation is the only national nonprofit dedicated to helping people affected by the rare genetic disorder OI, providing education, referrals and one-on-one support. With just seven staff, the foundation struggled with an inflexible website, costly manual outreach and no easy way for people with OI to connect, making it hard to reach new constituents or efficiently deliver resources.

The foundation implemented Convio’s hosted solution—content management, fundraising, email marketing, event tools and community features—so one staff member could update personalized content, run campaigns and enable online RSVPs and forums. Results included a 250%+ increase in monthly visitors (from ~9,800 to ~35,300), a 46% growth in the clinic directory, online donations rising from $1,300 to nearly $29,000, a two-thirds reduction in paper mailings, improved constituent support and a break-even ROI.
