The Michigan Humane Society (MHS) is a private nonprofit that cares for more than 100,000 animals a year and works to end companion-animal homelessness. MHS lacked a cohesive Internet strategy and was underutilizing its Convio tools, limiting online fundraising, constituent engagement and the ability to provide event participants with easy online fundraising options.
MHS partnered with Convio Strategic Services to redesign its website, implement a sophisticated online strategy and add Convio TeamRaiser. The organization then moved to data-driven, real-time decision making: its usable email list grew from 6,900 to 63,000, annual online donations rose from $216,000 to over $583,000, TeamRaiser generated $752,000 in five years (including $17,000 from a four-week contest), and lifetime ROI on Convio is nearly 800%; MHS also achieved major adoption and campaign gains, including a ~70% increase in adult cat adoptions in six months.
