League of Conservation Voters - Customer Case Study

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is the independent political voice for the environment, working to elect pro-environment candidates and hold policymakers accountable. LCV struggled with inadequate web-content tools and a lack of integration between its website, email, advocacy and fundraising systems, which made it difficult to create microsites, allow visitors to subscribe from any page, or promote timely action and donation opportunities.

LCV implemented Convio’s integrated suite (email, constituent management, advocacy, fundraising, community, events and web content) in March 2005, migrated its sites onto the CMS, and trained five staff to use the tools. Within two weeks they launched their first campaigns and completed site migration in two months; they now produce content faster, operate three interactive sites with over 3,500 pages, and ran the “Hands Off Our Coast” campaign that generated 200,000 letters to senators and $9,000 in donations.
