A Convio Case Study
Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB), a global healthcare nonprofit founded in 1928, faced underdeveloped online capabilities that left it unable to track web visitors, suffered stagnating online donations from a generic giving form, and ran separate web and offline development efforts that produced inconsistent e-campaign and direct-mail messaging. The organization needed a stronger web presence and integrated approach to increase revenue and donor engagement.
CMMB implemented Convio’s fundraising platform and Constituent360, partnered with Amergent and NPAdvisors for multi-channel strategy, and tested and integrated customized donation pages with direct mail appeals. As a result, online giving grew from just over $32,000 in FY03 to more than $168,000 in FY07 (nearly doubling in the first year), the email list expanded from 4,000 to 32,000, and new initiatives like the annual “All Souls” appeal and cross-departmental campaigns improved stewardship and donor acquisition.
