A Convio Case Study
The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) is a national nonprofit that defends fundamental rights in Canada. By 2010 its custom FileMaker database could not handle non‑donors, event planning or online registration, track donor correspondence, or automate routine tasks, making events and fundraising cumbersome.
In March 2011 CCLA moved to Convio Common Ground, enabling online registration and ticketing for a major gala (driving numerous $1,000+ gifts and a $30,000 year‑over‑year increase from their Attorney’s Circle), streamlined event and sponsor management, automated online transactions and monthly sustainer self‑service, and cut time on segmentation and data entry. The change also grew their email list to 5,200, improved CRM tracking for donor outreach, and increased overall productivity and capacity for growth.
