A Convert.com Case Study
Loop Earplugs wanted to test whether offering a personalized carrying case at checkout would help drive more direct sales and improve revenue metrics, using Convert.com’s A/B testing platform with Dash of CX. Their challenge was balancing the appeal of customization against the risk that an extra checkout step could create friction and hurt conversion.
Convert.com helped run a 28-day experiment comparing personalized checkout versus the original flow. The original version won, with the personalization option causing a 3.04% drop in conversion rate, a 2.96% drop in revenue per visitor, and a 5.68% reduction in add-to-cart conversions, despite a 6.89% clickthrough on the new CTA. The test gave Loop Earplugs clear evidence to avoid adding that step at checkout and showed the value of testing changes before launch.
