Convert Helped Mintminds Pair Product Attributes with Carousel Images for a 13% Increase in Add-to-Cart

Mintminds, working with Convert and using Hotjar and Google Analytics, set out to improve conversions for Dutch retailer lampenlicht.nl. Although analytics showed heavy interaction with product specification blocks, earlier A/B tweaks that moved or highlighted specs actually reduced add-to-cart rates, revealing that quantitative data without user context was misleading.

Based on user research, Mintminds tested a variant that placed short, purchase-relevant attributes and USPs on product carousel images (from the second image onward), triggered when that image entered the viewport and served via Convert across desktop and mobile. The variant increased Add-to-Cart by 13% (100% confidence), Order Conversion by 4.96% (96.1% confidence), Revenue per Visitor by 6.58%, delivered a 116% ROI, and produced even larger lifts for returning visitors (+19%) and mobile shoppers (+15%), earning industry recognition.
