Rengo Packaging, a corrugated packaging manufacturer in Kapolei, Hawaii, faced the challenge of standing up a new plant, onboarding many hires with little to no corrugated experience, managing contractor orientation during construction, and building a robust safety and training program that met regulatory expectations. To address this, Rengo partnered with Convergence Training and deployed Convergence’s Convergence LMS and Contractor LMS along with online corrugated manufacturing courses (“Box Plant Basics”) and safety and manufacturing e-learning.

Convergence Training implemented the LMS with in-person setup help, ongoing support, and tailored course assignments, enabling three-day new-hire orientations, job-specific training modules, and company communications through the LMS. The solution improved training consistency and record-keeping, impressed HIOSH inspectors (who were given temporary LMS access), supported rapid hiring (about 35 employees in 6–8 weeks), and contributed to zero recorded safety incidents since opening (only minor first-aid injuries), demonstrating clear operational and safety impact from Convergence Training’s program.
