West Midlands Ambulance Service boosts 999 reliability with Convergence Group across 15 hubs

The West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, which serves 5.6 million people and handles thousands of emergency calls daily, required absolute network reliability for its critical control rooms. Any downtime in its voice and data communications could have life-threatening consequences. The trust partnered with Convergence Group for technical support and break-fix services for its Cisco and Aruba infrastructure.

Convergence Group provided dedicated on-site engineering staff to ensure continuous network performance and infrastructure monitoring, particularly during times when the trust's own key staff were unavailable. This solution ensured the smooth operation of essential services. As a result of the successful partnership, Convergence Group's support will be expanded to cover a new control room for the non-emergency '111' service, increasing the number of supported operatives to 250.
