Michaelhouse - Customer Case Study

Michaelhouse, a boarding school in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands with 871 pupils and staff and 64 controlled doors, needed a reliable way to secure houses, communal and staff areas while simplifying daily access and roll call. They engaged Controlsoft to replace card-based systems with biometric access control to reduce lost cards/tags, streamline movement, and provide selective access for staff and students.

Controlsoft deployed MorphoManager software with Morpho J Series and newer Morpho Sigma Lite biometric readers across the site, integrating original J readers (installed ~10 years ago) with newer Sigma Lite units so no wholesale hardware replacement was required. The result is a secure, easily accessed facility used by all authorized students and staff, reliable roll call capability, measurable cost and time savings from eliminating cards, and extended system lifecycle—supporting 871 users and 64 doors with over a decade of continuous operation under Controlsoft’s solution.
