A Controlsoft Case Study
Broughton Hall High School, a Catholic high school in Liverpool with around 1,750 pupils, 250 staff and 30 controlled doors, was losing teaching time to a card-based access system — staff had to reissue cards when students forgot or lost them, causing late arrivals and classroom disruption. Broughton Hall selected Controlsoft to replace cards with a biometric solution, deploying IDEMIA Sigma Lite fingerprint readers together with Controlsoft’s Identity Access Software and iNet Door Controllers.
Controlsoft delivered an easy-to-use enrolment process, administrator training and ongoing support; the fingerprint readers provide rapid identification, cut the need for staff to reissue access cards, and improved punctuality and classroom continuity. The system has been in continuous use for 12 years, is well-liked by students and staff, and Controlsoft reports straightforward administration and reliable support.
