Association of Maryland Pilots - Customer Case Study

The Association of Maryland Pilots, the oldest state‑codified pilots’ organization founded in 1852, renovated its commercial office at 3720 Dillon Street in Baltimore and needed to restrict access so only pilots could enter certain areas. To meet that need they engaged Controlsoft and installed a Controlsoft card access system including i-Net PLUS door controllers, Identity Access software, and HID iCLASS SE Mobile readers.

Controlsoft configured the system to manage 18 doors and about 150 users, issuing HID Mobile credentials via Identity Access to pilots’ smartphones (and Apple Watches) alongside traditional keyfobs. The result was a simple, effective access control setup that ensures only authorized pilots gain entry, streamlines credential management, and eliminates many lockouts — pilots can use their phone as a virtual keyfob when keys are forgotten.
