Alsop High School choose Biometric Access Solution

Alsop High School, one of Liverpool’s largest secondary schools with nearly 1,800 students and more than 2,000 pupils and staff across 73 doors, needed a robust, scalable access control solution. In 2010 the school selected Controlsoft to provide iNet Door Controllers and Identity Access Software paired with IDEMIA biometric readers (MA‑500, J Series and Sigma Lite) to manage secure entry across the campus.

Controlsoft implemented a fingerprint-based access control system with internal card readers for card/keyfob fallback and has expanded it over time to integrate three generations of IDEMIA readers. The deployed solution now secures 73 doors for over 2,000 users, delivers fast identification and reliable operation (many original iNet controllers remain in service since 2010), and gives Alsop flexible credential options—demonstrating Controlsoft’s long-term performance and durability.
