Media Defined, a Dallas-based provider of the NetExam learning management system for the extended enterprise, needed to securely support global content delivery and in-application payment functionality for customers like McAfee and Honeywell. As usage expanded across more than 100 countries, the company needed help ensuring speed, reliability, and PCI DSS compliance without distracting its team from core product development.

ControlScan partnered with Media Defined to perform the PCI assessment, validate compliance, and deploy and manage a web application firewall (WAF) powered by Incapsula. The solution also included a CDN that improved content delivery speed worldwide, helping Media Defined better serve users in regions like Australia, Asia, and Europe while blocking unwanted traffic; ControlScan first validated the company as PCI compliant in March 2012 and continues to provide ongoing security and compliance support.
