Green Flag, a UK roadside assistance provider, faced challenges with its outdated and inflexible legacy IT systems, which led to slow communication, high costs, and limited in-house software delivery capability. To support its five-year digital transformation program, Green Flag engaged the vendor Contino to help build a modern foundation for a rapid, on-demand rescue service.

Contino designed and built a secure, serverless cloud-native platform on AWS, which included a Landing Zone and CI/CD pipelines. This eliminated infrastructure maintenance and allowed application teams to focus on development. Concurrently, Contino helped build an in-house engineering function by recruiting and training staff. The results were delivered in just five weeks, enabling new features to go to production in under 30 minutes, accelerating rescue times, lowering costs, and creating a reusable infrastructure.
