SSE Chooses Contigo’s enVoy for electronic data transfer with National Grid

SSE, the UK’s largest generator of renewable energy, needed to replace ageing market communications systems that were reaching end of life. With around 175 registered BMUs and approximately 3,500 National Grid submissions a day, SSE wanted a modern, reliable, future-proofed platform to manage electronic data transfer efficiently. Contigo Software provided its enVoy integrated energy nomination and scheduling platform to meet that need.

Contigo Software implemented enVoy as a reliable interface for National Grid EDT, embedded within SSE’s wider systems and tested in parallel before go-live. The web-based, configurable solution proved easy to use and navigate, and SSE was able to train users in-house. Since launch, Contigo Software’s enVoy has supported around two million submissions, running efficiently in the background with minimal user intervention and delivering a highly reliable, business-critical service.
