Maximizing Limited Resources Across a Distributed Environment

Aztec Municipal School District (AMSD), a rural New Mexico district serving more than 3,000 students and 450 staff, needed a single, cost‑effective solution to replace an aging centralized security appliance that couldn’t keep up with changing Internet use. The district required dynamic content filtering, bandwidth and Internet activity management, spyware/virus prevention, proxy and SSL support, detailed reporting and granular controls, and found buying multiple point products was too expensive, time‑consuming and poorly integrated.

ContentWatch deployed its ContentProtect CP 450S Security Appliance to provide filtering, traffic shaping, Active Directory integration, real‑time gateway monitoring and granular reporting, allowing department‑level policies and faster troubleshooting. As a result, ContentWatch enabled AMSD to proactively manage incidents, allocate bandwidth more effectively, dramatically reduce proxy site use, improve visibility through detailed reports, and save the district time and money while meeting its operational and CIPA requirements.
